The Superintendent/Principal's Corner

Mary Pat Baima

Welcome to my webpage.
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am originally from Chicago; however, I have lived in LaSalle County since I married Joe Baima thirty-five years ago. We have three grown children, and we are pleased to welcome our baby granddaughter, Lillie. I graduated from Illinois State University where I received a Bachelors Degree in Education with an emphasis in English. My first teaching position was at Ransom Grade School where I taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade Language Arts. At the end of four years, I moved to LaSalle-Peru High School where I taught Sophomore Academy English, World History, and Journalism. After working in the field for seven years, I attended the University of St. Francis where I received a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership, and I earned a type 75 certification. I accepted the position of principal at Ransom Grade School and continued my education so that I could assume the duties of superintendent.

As an administrator, I will provide my students and staff with a safe and effective learning environment where political, social, and cultural differences are both acknowledged and respected. Providing my staff with opportunities for professional growth and encouragement will help them to attain the highest standard of performance and will allow them to be the best possible role models for their students. My goal will be to provide students with a variety of learning experiences that will instill in them a sense of confidence and develop their ability to think clearly about themselves, their future, and their role as community leaders. I will work hard to provide a school environment where all students and staff share a vision of success.
