Weekly Annoucements AIMSweb testing- Monday - Friday. Math Test- Chapter 7- Thursday. 100th Day- Thursday. Spelling Test over Unit 18, Friday. Reading Review over Gabriela, Friday. Phonics review over Unit 18, Friday.
Subjects Reading: We will read the story Gabriela. Students will complete their review over this story on Friday, January 27.
Writing: Students will be writing about how they are unique.
Math: Students will be tested over chapter 7, shapes and fractions on Thursday. Science: Students will begin talking about chapter 7. This chapter is all about weather and seasons.
Grammar: Students are working on the verb be.
Phonics: Long E, Sound for y. Change y to I.
Vocabulary: Suffixes -y and -ful.
Spelling: Unit 18 words correspond with the story we are discussing in Reading. Students must write all words 3 times to turn in on Tuesday. The test over these words will be Friday, January 27. The words are as follows... 1. happy 2. pretty 3. baby 4. very 5. puppy 6. funny 7. carry 8. lucky 9. only 10. sunny 11. penny 12. city 13. tiny 14. many 15. sorry 16. noisy
Targe Vocabulary: 1. accepted 2. express 3. taugh 4. grand 5. pretend 6. prize 7. wonder 8. fluttering

Weekly Homework The following items are homework that each student will have weekly. Spelling- On Monday, students must write Spelling words 3 times each. Challenge words must be written 5 times.
Reading- Each Monday, students will begin reading our new story. We will complete a Reading Review on Fridays to grade comprehension and vocabulary. Worksheets are given in class. Only those students who do not complete their work in class will have to take those home.
Math- Most lessons have a worsksheet to correspond with it. If students do not complete this in class, they will have to bring it home.
Never discourage anyone who continually makes progress, no matter how slow!
